Am I allowed to bring my dog?

Yes. Please ask your waiter/waitress for a dog bowl.

Do you serve food?

Yes. Our kitchen is open from 11h00 to 22h00.

Do you serve laktose- & glutenfree food?

Yes. All the information about the dishes are noted on our menus. Our service team will be happy to help with any uncertainties.

Is it possible to make a reservation outside?

If the weather is nice, we will gladly reserve your place outside on the terrace or in the beer garden.

Can I park a car or a coach in the surroundings?

Yes, you will find a meter parking (Klösterlistutz) and free blue zone parking close to the restaurant (Grosser Muristalden and Aargauerstalden).

Otherwise, we have bicycle parking in front of the restaurant an the bus stop "Bärengraben" (bus Nr.12 in direction Zentrum Paul Klee) is right in front of our restaurant.

Is it possible to visit the brewery?

Yes and no...

We offer guided tours through our brewery. But these tours are only available in German.

How can I pay?

We accept cash payments in CHF or EUR (change is only refunded in CHF), EC-direct, Postcard, all major credit cards, lunchcheck and the berncity card. We issue invoices for companies or larger events.

Does your restaurant have an access for wheelchairs?

Yes. Our restaurant is completely accessible with wheelchairs.

How long has the Restaurant Altes Tramdepot been in existence?

The restaurant opened in November 1998.

Was this really a tram depot in the past?

Yes. You can find the history of the Old Tram Depot here. (only available in german)

How many animals live in the Bear Park?

Currently, there are totally 3 bears living in the park.
mama bear called Björk, papa bear called Finn and the baby daughters called Berna.

When can you see the bears?

The circuit around the BearPark is accessible every day, around the clock.
Due to the free-range park bears decide by themselves when to stay in their caves and when to play in the park. No time recommandations can be suggested.

The keepers are there every day from 08h00 to 17h00 .

What will happen to the Bear Pit now?

Bears no longer live in the bear pit. They moved to the BärenPark in autumn 2009. Since then, the small bear pit has been open to the public. It houses an exhibition about the history of the bear pit.

Can I visit the BearPark?

Yes. They offer an exciting tour around the bear park. Under professional guidance you visit the site, learn exciting facts about the history and significance of the Bear Pit, the Bear Park Bern, about keeping bears, their biology, and especially about our three Bernese bears.
