The Brew Crew
Responsible for the unique beers is our brew crew headed by Matthias Koschahre. With a lot of passion, knowledge and creativity, they are constantly developing new surprising beer creations.
Matthias Koschahre, Brewery Manager
He's doing the job with passion and love since 2008. Since 2021 he is the boss, because of that he's often forced to use the computer. But he's just as good with the bottling line or the brewhouse control. No beer before four (as a matter of principle). He's a devoted wearer of sweatpants and sneakers.
Michel Rieder, Brewer
A gifted beer enthusiast, he loves to ski and is Matthias' third hand. He has a flair for technical matters and keeps the facilities in good shape. Despite a touch of Aargauer dialect, he is allowed to take on a speaking role at the legendary open-air theatre Tellspiele.
Cyril Kummer, Brewer
If he hadn't discovered brewing beer for himself, he would probably be playing soccer in the Super League now. But he has made peace with brewing beer in the Champions League instead. Doesn't drink coffee. His heart belongs to YB.
Juan Ballesi, Brewery employee
From dishwasher to beer brewer. Juan is extremely inquisitive and likes to summarize his cell phone notes on a piece of paper during lunch. He is also ideally suited for beer brewing thanks to his pronounced cleaning instinct.
Tomislav Ivanković, Logistics
He brings you your beer and helps out in the brewery wherever he can. Tommy can work like a “locomotive” and needs to be slowed down rather than spurred on. If you need help, he is there instantly and teaches the whole brewery nasty Croatian swear words.
ANNA GMEINER, Brewery employee
She already has extremely useful chemistry skills from her first apprenticeship as a laboratory assistant. She can also do Pilates, but it's rarely needed for brewing. Strengthens the YB front.
